Christians today live in a world that is activity heavy and relationship light. The result is spiritual emptiness. We struggle to know what God wants from us and for us ….we are unsure what a real relationship with God really looks like.
But that was never God’s idea. HIS idea of faith is not about rules or religion. It is about relationship. That is where God tells us to start. In Romans 12, God gives us a clear picture of what Christians should look like at the root level. If you are ready to move from “in” to “all in,” then you are ready to become a Roman 12 (r12) Christian.
From June 3 to August 19, we will be preaching on having a genuine, intimate relationship with God without the gimmicks, quick fixes, or easy steps. Relationships take time, take effort, take communication. Whether you are a new Christian or a mature Christian, this series is intended to get you moving or keep you moving towards true spirituality. Christianity is not just a decision to believe in the Almighty Awesome God but it is a lifestyle filled with adventure, meaning, and vitality. We will be using Chip Ingram’s book, “True Spirituality: Becoming a Romans 12 Christian” as a reference book. If you are on vacation and/or wish to read along with the sermon series, you are encouraged to order the book online. It is easy reading and good for the soul. Also, read the article on the next page by Pastor Rick Stence. He is doing a 12 week Bible Study that coincides with the sermon series. While it is summer time, let us take our vacations, but not from GOD. Let us use our summer time to relax, to enjoy recreation, and to grow in our relationships with each other and with GOD.
