Our Student Ministry exists to equip students in their walk with God. Our goal is to teach and display what Jesus has done for us and how that can change our entire lives. We want to disciple students and walk with them wherever they are with God. We hope to see students who own their faith and genuinely know their God as they grow up and move on to the next stage of their lives.

Sunday School - Sunday Mornings 9:00-10:00am
Youth Group - Wednesday Evenings 6:30-8:00pm

Sunday School

MIDDLE SCHOOL (Grades Six through Eight):
The youth in this class use "Grapple" curriculum by Group.

HIGH SCHOOL (Grades Nine through Twelve):
This class uses the “Team Sunday” curriculum.  They use a variety of resources involving Bible Study, daily living and current events.

RockSOLID Life Groups

All students (6th-12th grade) have the opportunity to become part of a small group. They meet at various times of the week in their individual groups, and then meet each Wednesday at 6pm for a RockSOLID Worship Night at the Youth Center.

In addition to our weekly meetings and our Sunday School small group times each age group is invited to LIFEGROUP where they connect once a month and spend time together with a team of mentors.

Additionally, there are also fun events throughout the year for the entire Youth Group. Whether it's during a lock-in, paintball, dodgeball tournament or some other fun activity, we enjoy being together! We do this to build friendships amongst our group, also to create a safe place to bring friends who may not know God.

The Halifax United Methodist Church provides a safe place, which is drug-free, alcohol free and violence free, for Middle/Senior High School Youth (grades 6-12) following select home football games in the fall.  Activities are held at the Halifax Youth Center building and grounds.  It will be a time for interaction between youth and youth/adults as we relate to one another in a Christ-like way and demonstrate the Christian faith.  There will be DJ music provided for listening and dancing, a pit fire when weather permits, and refreshments are provided at no cost by the church and/or community.

The Halifax Youth Center is the result of a Vision by members of HUMC who desired to provide quality after-school programming to the Youth of our community grades 6-12.  This ministry started when HUMC purchased a small house on Rise Street to facilitate the Outreach effort.  As the ministry grew, this house was eventually torn down and replaced with a beautiful facility now known as the Halifax Youth Center.

During the school year, the Youth Center runs 2:30 – 6pm Monday – Friday.  The ministry is led by a Director and awesome group of volunteers who together help to creating a healthy environment for the youth to enjoy.

The after-school program is a combination of fun, study support, food and learning together.

Our desire is to build Character in the lives of our young people in a way that inspires them to tackle the world and make a positive impact.  As we move forward, we are excited to begin opening on select weeks throughout the summer months as a way of continuing a positive level of support and growth. For more information please contact the Church Office at youth@halifaxumc.com
